Tcha Limberger and his Budapest Gypsy Orchestra played in the Howard Assembly Room on Thursday 2 June. The ensemble played the full Hungarian gypsy band style, with bursts of soaring musical tragedy mixed with exuberant traditional dance music and song.

An astonishingly accomplished violinist, Tcha Limberger brought excitement, humour and foot tapping tunes to the space. The son of the great guitarist Vivi Limberger, he grew up surrounded by the gypsy-jazz style of Django Reinhardt. For this concert he was joined by his own hand-picked gypsy musicans from Budapest.
